the “Pearl of Lake Guarda.” Situated on
a promontory extending into the lake, this
fortified town has been famous since Roman times.
Today, the spectacular 13th-century Scaligeri
Castle stands guard over the bridge connecting
the mainland to the picturesque old town with its
narrow streets and small piazzas, arched stone
doorways, boutiques, galleries, cafes,
restaurants and gelaterias.

one of the most cosmopolitan of Lake Garda’s
resorts, equally popular with Italians, as it is
with foreign visitors, who come to relax and
enjoy the shingle beaches on either side of the
town.

- Gardone
Riviera is known for its mild climate
and lush, exotic vegetation. It's an elegant
resort with a pretty, leafy lake front promenade
and a good selection of boutiques and cafés. A
short walk from the village is the peculiar
‘Il Vittoriale’, former home to the
author Gabriele D’Annunzio.

- Anyway, your english
speaking driver will take you around but he
cannot escort and explain you INSIDE
monuments and sites because standing to the
italian law only the LICENSED guides are allowed
to do this.
- Also, the driver
cannot escort you to the small pedestrian area of
Sirmione, because it's hard to find a park for
the car.
- In case you do not
book a guide you will explore the pedestrian
areas and the sites on your own, while the driver
will be waiting for you near the car.
