Lake Como is 30 miles long and is the deepest lake in Europe. Situated at the southern end is the town of Cernobbio, popular with celebrity long before George Clooney pitched up. Cernobbio was the favourite resort of Queen Caroline, exiled wife of George IV, in the early 19th century.

Little modernisation has affected the town in the intervening years. The Como area is a place for relaxing and walking. The Cernobbio shore offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside: the Alps, Renaissance Italian villas with carefully planted gardens, cathedrals and the lake itself, dotted with vaporetti.

Your second stop is the Fox Town outlet Mall which is located just over the Swiss/Italian border.
