- Introduction
to the Leaning Tower:
- In
1173, construction began on this icon of Italian
architecture. Construction continued
- for
about 200 years, faithful to the plans of the
original designer, whose identity remains
- a
mystery. The famous lean began during the
construction of the tower, and many
- attempts
were made to correct it. The Leaning Tower was
most recently closed in 1990
- to
reduce its dangerous tilt and has just reopened
in 2001. Engineers are currently working
- with
the soil below the tower to increase support for
this national monument.

under 8 years old are not allowed to access
the Leaning Tower.
You should buy the
tickets for the Leaning Tower in advance, because it's
hard to find tickets still available on the day of the
visit, especially in high season (from March till
October).
- Pre-reserved
tickets for the Leaning Tower can be purchased
online by credit card.
- The
deadline for the online purchasing is 16 days
before the visiting date (you are not allowed to
buy tickets online less than 16 days in advance).
- In
order to buy the tickets, the cardholder is
required to go directly in the Leaning Tower
official booking site and complete an online form
including credit card details and other
information.
